Givebacks is an e-commerce site that offers special savings of 30%-50% on curated products and services designed for families. Givebacks allows you to pick a local cause to get an automatic donation of up to 20% of your purchase. It’s a win-win way to shop, save and support causes that benefit your community.

How much money will causes get from Givebacks?


Causes will receive up to 20% of sales donated back, but exact percentages vary based on the offering.




Does it cost anything to shop Givebacks?


No. Causes and shoppers don’t pay anything to participate in Givebacks. Businesses can place Givebacks with no upfront costs. They only pay a fee when they get a new customer.

What kinds of causes participate in Givebacks?


You can choose from over one million 501(c)(3) organizations that are registered and in good standing with the IRS. Each organization must register with Givebacks and provide information so that we can send them donations.




How do I choose a cause to give back to?


The first time you purchase on Givebacks.com, you can pick your favorite cause to receive up to 20% back from your purchases. We’ll keep your selection for future purchases.




Can I change the cause I chose?


Yes, you can change the cause you want to support at any time in your Givebacks account. After you change your cause, donations from your future purchases will go to your new cause.




What if the cause I want isn't registered with Givebacks?


No problem - you can choose causes that aren’t registered with Givebacks yet. We’ll contact the organization to ask them to register with Givebacks to receive donations. The organization has 8 calendar quarters to register with Givebacks. During that time, we will track their donations.

If the cause doesn’t register by the end of that period or becomes ineligible, we’ll email you and ask you to select a new cause within 30 days. When you pick a new cause within the 30-day period, we’ll apply the donations from your previous Givebacks purchases to your new cause. If you don’t select a new cause within 30 days, we’ll apply the donations from your previous Givebacks purchases to other causes.

Your cause will get up to 20% of your supporters' sales donated back when they pick your cause and shop at givebacks.com. That's compared to traditional retail and grocery loyalty programs, which typically give back from 0.5% to 4% on sales of select products.




How do shoppers choose my cause to give back to?

What are the eligibility rules for causes to participate in Givebacks?


To be eligible to participate in Givebacks, causes:

  • Must be public 501(c)(3) organizations registered and in good standing with the IRS.
  • Must be located in one of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Must not engage in, support, encourage, or promote intolerance, hate, terrorism, violence, money laundering, or other illegal activities. We take measures to include only causes that do not engage in any of these activities; however we can’t guarantee the conduct of any organization.
  • Must follow the terms of a Givebacks Agreement.
  • Can cancel their participation in Givebacks at any time.




What happens if a cause becomes ineligible?


If a cause is no longer eligible to participate in Givebacks, we will notify shoppers and ask them to select a new cause. If a cause’s IRS standing changes, we give the organization a grace period to re-establish their IRS status. If a cause violates the Givebacks Agreement and becomes ineligible, we’ll notify the cause by the next quarter.




What's the catch?


There is no catch. We created Givebacks to help nonprofits raise money for their causes while providing families in their community with products and services that enrich family life and support local businesses. We collect a fee from businesses to cover costs - and we'll never charge causes or shoppers to use Givebacks. MemberHub NEVER sells or shares personal data. This is an excellent, win-win-win way to connect your community with special local offers!




How will my cause get the money?


Donations will be automatically delivered into your merchant account.




How should I account for Givebacks proceeds?


Givebacks.com is an e-commerce platform with a social purpose, developed by the software company MemberHub, Inc. Businesses market their products and services through our wholly owned platform to the users of our software and website. As part of MemberHub’s social mission, we donate a defined percentage of our marketing sales to nonprofits. Proceeds that your organization receives from MemberHub, from sales of offers through our Givebacks platform, should be characterized as a contribution from MemberHub.

What are the costs for businesses to participate?


You only pay when shoppers purchase your offers. We collect a small fee to promote Givebacks. The specific fee varies based on the industry, market, and consumer demand. Causes get up to 20% donated back on every sale. Credit card transaction fees also apply.




How is this different from other channels, like social media and search advertising?

It's also a major selling point to shoppers that a portion of proceeds from your sales is donated directly back to their cause. So you are not just getting a customer, but also giving back.




How will I know if an item is sold?


You will receive an activity report every month that details the offer transactions that occurred and the total amount your business received.

After you set up a merchant account, money will be directly deposited into your account shortly after a transaction occurs. You will also receive an activity report every month that details the offer transactions that occurred, and the total amount your business received.
